Probably one of the most challenging wines we’ve made to date. Pequenos Rebentos Selvagem comes from the oldest production system for green wines, the Vinha de Enforcado. Able to reach almost 10 meters in height, this viticulture system is completely out of control, it literally grows through the trees above and all the cultivation of the vineyard has to be done using stairs.
Mainly of the azal variety, this vineyard was planted in 1932 in Amarante. It produces rustic wines with very high acidity. Due to the lack of lignification of the stalk of the variety, the grapes were manually de-stemmed and fermented, spontaneously, in an amphora with the skins for 30 days.
After pressing, they aged for about 7 months in used French and Portuguese oak barrels, and another 5 months in bottle.
From one of the oldest vines in Portugal and with a reprinted flavor, this presents a numbered edition limited to 1400 bottles.
