Graham\u2019s, one of the most renowned Port wine houses, owned by the Symington family, has just announced a new and innovative Ruby Port, Blend N\u00ba12.<\/p>\n
Predominantly created from the famous Touriga Nacional variety, the wine is specifically aimed at bars and non-traditional Port consumers. Blend N\u00ba12 owes its name to the fact that the grapes used in its production \u2013 planted at higher elevations \u2013 are harvested by hand in the middle of the night to guarantee maximum freshness. After harvesting, these grapes are fermented in the cold, in order to preserve their primary aromas and intensity. Unlike most Ports in the Ruby category, Blend N\u00ba12 is not oak aged, but is bottled young to maximize concentration and flavour.<\/p>\n
The design of Blend N\u00ba12 contains fruits that reflect the different flavors of the wine \u2013 raspberries, blackberries and strawberries \u2013, as well as rock rose, the emblematic flower of the Douro.
